Bighorn Rodworks was born from a lifelong passion for exploring lakes, rivers, creeks, and streams, fly rod in hand. Our company name is a nod to the Bighorn Mountains, and the Bighorn River, of north-central Wyoming where I grew up camping, hunting, hiking, and fishing. I first began building fly rods as a hobby a few decades ago while attending college in Montana. Upon graduating, I took my shiny-new university degree in Fisheries Biology to the Pacific Northwest where I started my career as a biologist and where I was introduced to double-hand (Spey) fly rods. Over the next 20 plus years I honed my skills as a rod builder and Spey caster (I’m still honing the latter).
We are a small company with just a few employees, still based in the wonderful Pacific Northwest. Our aim is to build high quality fly rods for anglers who appreciate superb performance, as well as beauty and fine craftsmanship, in their fishing implements.
Thank you for visiting our website and thank you for your interest in our company, Bighorn Rodworks.
